The terror escalates perfectly once the killer starts stalking through the groves—setup feels tight even with just the core box modules. Slaughter in the Groves adds that suffocating close-quarters tension I crave, and the African setting makes every hiding spot feel genuinely unsafe.
I usually play solo after the kids go to bed, and this one kicks things up a notch. The Africa setting for the Ancient Groves is so fresh and tense, and I love that it slots right into the Core Box without any hassle.
The new location cards add a nice twist to the usual forest setup, and the tourist-vs-predator tension feels fresh. Only gripe is that the board gets crowded fast with four players. Still, it's a solid pickup if you already own the core box.
