My daughter loved helping Calie take charge of her own story instead of waiting around. The pages feel like a real adventure for new readers, and the art kept her flipping to see what happens next.
The twist where Calie decides not to wait in the tower had my kid cheering out loud, and she keeps flipping back to hunt for details in the illustrations. The interactive parts make it feel like she's helping tell the story instead of just listening.
My daughter insists on being Calie every night now, deciding her own path instead of waiting to be rescued. The pages are sturdy enough to survive her flipping back and forth to find the choices again.
